Lecturer in Law
Tom Wanebo teaches Legal Research and Writing at UCLA School of Law. He began his legal career at Irell & Manella, LLP, where he focused on complex civil litigation and high-stakes intellectual property cases. Wanting to make more of a community impact, he then worked as a trial attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, defending low-income tenants against eviction and suing abusive landlords.
Mr. Wanebo received his B.A. in English and History from Colorado State University and his J.D. from UCLA, where he was a Michael T. Masin Scholar, and earned Top Oral Advocate in Moot Court and Best Advocate in Mock Trial. His publications include "Remote Killing and the Fourth Amendment: Updating Constitutional Law to Address Expanded Police Lethality in the Robotic Age" in the UCLA Law Review.
