Transcript Requests

Electronic PDF and mailed copies of official academic transcripts may be ordered through MyUCLA and by following the instructions provided by the UCLA Registrar’s Office.

Ordering a transcript through MyUCLA is available to students who graduated after 1990. Students who graduated in 1990 and before must email the law school Records Office (records@law.ucla.edu) to request a mailed copy of their official academic transcript.

Copies of unofficial transcripts can also be accessed on MyUCLA. Unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not carry the Registrar’s seal.

For more information about our grading system, please review the UCLA School of Law Transcript Legend.

Diploma Requests

Graduates may pick up their diplomas at the law school’s Records Office service window (1224 Law Building). Be sure to bring a driver’s license, state-issued identification card or passport.

Graduates may also request to have diplomas mailed. Send your signed request to:

SCAN AND EMAIL

records@law.ucla.edu

In your request, please include: your name, signature, UCLA ID number or the last four digits of your Social Security number, date of birth, year of your graduation, a contact phone number or email address in case we need to reach you, and the address to which the diploma should be sent.

Diplomas are sent via certified mail with a recipient signature required for delivery. Please note that the diploma is very large and flat. Having it delivered to your office/work address is generally better than having it delivered to a residence. If there is nobody there to sign for it, then you will have to go to the post office and pick it up. Please make sure the delivery address is valid, as returned diplomas tend to get damaged, necessitating a re-order of your diploma and another eight-week wait. There is no cost for mailing.

You can authorize a trusted third party to pick up your diploma by sending in advance a written, signed request to the Records Office. In addition to the usual diploma request information (your name, signature, UCLA ID number or last four digits of your Social Security number, date of birth, year of your graduation, a contact phone number or email address), you must include the name of your designate and they must present their own photo ID when they come for pick up. Authorizations can be faxed or scanned and emailed to the Records Office.

Your diploma will not be released if you have outstanding financial obligations to the University. You can check MyUCLA (formerly URSA) for information on any outstanding holds on your academic records.

REPLACEMENT DIPLOMAS

If your original diploma has been lost or significantly damaged, you can request a replacement diploma by completing and submitting the Replacement Diploma Request form to the UCLA Registrar's Office with your payment of $75. Please make checks payable to UC Regents. Re-orders take approximately eight weeks to process. The replacement diploma will bear a reissue date and the signatures of the current officials of the state and University.
