UCLA Law is proud of the depth and breadth of the careers and interests pursued by our students prior to law school. Our students have excelled in almost every industry. The following is just a sampling of the outstanding previous accomplishments of the class of 2027.
The class includes 46 student organization presidents, 12 founders of student organizations, 19 representatives from student governing bodies, five fraternity or sorority presidents, 14 mock trial team captains or presidents, and eight editors-in-chief of student publications.

Business
The class includes a number of professionals from the business, finance, consulting, accounting and marketing industries, as well as entrepreneurs.

Arts & Entertainment
The incoming class has a wealth of experience in the art, entertainment and media industries and includes professional actors, producers, a casting director, a freelance filmmaker and numerous instrumentalists, vocalists and dancers.

Government
Students in the Class of 2027 have worked or interned for U.S. Senators, members of the U.S. House of Representatives, members of state legislatures, city officials, and on political campaigns. Students have also worked or interned for the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Defense, the Federal Election Commission, the FDIC, the CIA and the FBI. The class also includes veterans of the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army.

Public Service
The incoming class is also committed to public service and to advancing public policy. The class has spent countless hours working and volunteering for organizations like the ACLU, Bet Tzedek, Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Center for American Progress, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, Council on American Islamic Relations, Center for Policing Equity, Earthjustice, Feminist Majority, The Heritage Foundation, Institute for Climate and Peace, International Rescue Committee, Kids in Need of Defense, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children, MALDEF, NAACP, National Women’s Law Center, Public Counsel, Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, World Relief and many others.

Athletics
The class includes competitive athletes in a variety of sports as well as team captains for water polo, figure skating, ice hockey, and golf.

Bar Passage Rate For the Class Of 2023
88.4% of UCLA Law graduates who took the July 2023 California Bar Exam for the first time passed the examination. The statewide average bar passage rate for first-time test takers who graduated from ABA-approved law schools in California was 76.3%. For UCLA Law graduates taking the July 2023 New York Bar Exam, the passage rate was 96.4% for first-time test takers.
