Sherry Skibbe

Lecturer in Law

Sherry Skibbe is a Lecturer UCLA School of Law and teaches Legal Research and Writing. She previously worked as an employment lawyer and litigator for over 26 years as a shareholder at Vedder Price and a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She also has experience working in-house for Faraday&Future, where she served as Assistant General Counsel.

Ms. Skibbe earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of California Hastings College of the Law (now known as University of California College of the Law, San Francisco) and was a member of the Hastings Law Review. Prior to law school, she received a Master of International Affairs (M.I.A.) from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and earned her B.A. in History and Political Science from the UCLA.

Ms. Skibbe managed and edited the Vedder Price Employment blog, VedderWorks, was a frequent contributor to the Seyfarth Shaw Wage & Hour blog, and authored Chapter 12, “Defending the Employer Against Multiple Cases at the Same Time,” Wage & Hour Collective and Class Litigation, ALM Law Journal Press (2012).

She also has received recognition for her work in private practice including being named in Women of Influence: Attorneys 2024, Los Angeles Business Journal, The Legal 500 United States 2023 – Recommended Lawyers: Labor and Employment Disputes (Including Collection Actions): Defense, “Labor and Employment Star” by Benchmark Litigation (Euromoney Institutional Investor), 2021, and Southern California Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters) for Labor & Employment Law (2014-2018).
