Sandra Stern will teach Television Law at UCLA School of Law. She is currently Vice Chairman of the Lionsgate Television Group and was previously President and Chief Operating Officer. Stern co-runs the Television Group, which includes overseeing strategy and all areas of business and legal affairs, production, finance, and distribution for the TV studio, including strategic planning for both acquisitions and programming in a multiplatform and multinational environment.
Stern was named “Multichannel News Wonder Woman of the Year” in 2017. She was also awarded UCLA Law Alumnus of the Year in 2015 and received the Big Brothers Big Sisters Excellence in Mentoring Award in 2014, as well as many other awards and recognitions. She has been named one of the “Women in Entertainment Power 100” by The Hollywood Reporter for the last 15 years, including in 2024, and was honored with the “Women Impact Award” by Variety for the last four years.
Stern received her B.A. from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, her M.A. in Comparative Literature from the City University of New York Graduate Center, and her J.D. from UCLA School of Law. She is currently a board member of UCLA Law Women’s LEAD and the Ziffren Institute for Media, Entertainment, Technology, and Sports Law, as well as serving on the boards of the Saban Community Clinic, the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center, and the Center Theatre Group.
