The Law and Philosophy discipline explores both classic and contemporary questions about the nature of law and legal systems, with a focus on areas including constitutional, criminal and contract law. A rich collaboration between UCLA Law and the university’s renowned Philosophy Department, the Law and Philosophy Program hosts the UCLA Law Legal Theory Workshop, a yearly graduate and law student conference, and the bi-annual Herbert Morris Lecture in Law & Philosophy. These events bring innovative and highly regarded experts from across the academic world to UCLA Law.
